Angela meets and begins to date Christopher, a man who appears to be perfect. Everyone who meets him seems to feel as if they've met an angel. Tony, however, cannot seem to meet him, encountering several failed attempts, which begin to hinder his relationship with Kathleen.

Sam has spent the summer working at a ranch in New Mexico. When she calls home and announces that she'd like to stay there longer, Tony and the family fly out to change her mind. Tony is adamant that she return to Connecticut and go to college, but even more so when he meets her new boyfriend, Matt, and finds out that marriage is in their plans.

Discouraged that Angela is spending too much time at home, Tony convinces Mona to bring her to a night club. Angela does loosen up, but more so than Tony had intended. Soon, Angela is having middle-of-the-night parties, skipping work, and becoming a regular at Mona's club.

151. Did You Ever Have to Make Up Your Mind? (b: 09-Oct-90 pc: 0704)

Tony meets Kathleen's father, who takes him hunting, and later tells him he would like for him to be the father of his grandchildren. When Kathleen agrees that the idea sounds good, Tony objects and she guesses that Angela is the reason he doesn’t want to become serious. They agree they should break up. Meanwhile, Angela and Mona babysit Billy, a child from Tony's old neighborhood.

Dorm life is too much for Sam, so she moves into an off-campus house with an engaged couple. But when the couple breaks up, Sam is left living alone with the guy, who soon develops feelings for her. Matters are complicated further when Matt, Sam's boyfriend from New Mexico, pays a surprise visit and misconstrues the situation.

Tony and Angela each bring a date to the Starlight Ballroom’s final dance before closing. They meet a couple there who first met at the hall during World War II. Their story is told through flashbacks, where Tony and Angela play the couple as their younger selves. After the couple told them they got married on the same night they met, Tony and Angela wonder if they are moving too slow in their relationship.

Tony’s Uncle Aldo in Italy died and the family is invited to fly to Italy for the reading of the will. Uncle Aldo left his vineyards to Tony, but they soon learned that Uncle Aldo was not a kind man and the workers hated him. Tony made a decision that would restore family honor and make the workers happy.

Jonathan fears the dark-spirited girl he is dating has no interest in him. To impress her, he takes her for a ride in Tony's Jeep. A minor accident occurs, leaving a scratch on the Jeep. Jonathan desperately turns to Sam to help him cover up what happened. When Tony discovers the scratch, each one of them tries to take the blame for Jonathan, which makes Tony happy because they all stuck together.

Tony and Angela invite Sam to temporarily move back to the house while she is sick. She is skeptical at first, but soon is taking full advantage of their hospitality. Only Jonathan sees that she is milking Tony and Angela for their attention.

Billy is excited about taking swimming lessons with Tony at the YMCA. Tony confesses to Angela his lifelong fear of the water, and cops out of swimming by claiming a back injury. When Billy believes Tony's refusal to swim with him is due to a lack of faith in him, Tony tells Billy the truth.

Tony and Angela are audited by an IRS agent after Angela's accountant is arrested. The auditor suspects that Tony and Angela are more than just employer and employee, and alleges that they may inadvertently be married already.

166. Let Me Tell You 'Bout the Birds and the Bees (b: 19-Feb-91 pc: 0719)

A plumbing crisis at home calls Tony away from teaching his class, so Mona sits in, and ends up speaking to the students about sex. When Tony learns about this, particularly when the school principal calls him to his office, he furiously scolds Mona for being irresponsible. But as it turns out, the principal and teachers are thrilled with Mona's handling of the delicate subject and ask Tony to continue where she had left off.
