LAID-BACK clashed with uptight on Who's the Boss? (1984-1992) when former
major-leagure Tony Micelli (played by Tony Danza) and his daughter Samantha
(Alyssa Milano) arrived at high-powered ad exective Angela Bower's household,
where Tony had signed on as the live-in housekeeper.
Angela (Judith Light) was obsessed with her work, her son Jonathan (Danny
Pintauro) was painfully shy with now self-esteem, and her mother Mona
(played by Katherine Helmond) was a man-crazy vixen. The Bowers began
to loosen up, though, thanks to Tony's easygoing ways.
ALYSSA MILANO spent a good part of her childhood on Who's The Boss? -
from age 11. Protected by her TV dad Tony Danza, she was the darling of
the cast.
"All of a sudden there were boys coming to rehearsal," Tony
recalls. "I'd say: 'Whaddaya doin'? Get outta here!'"
In 1993, she created a firestorm of controversy when she posed stark naked
for Bikini magazine.
Two years later, Alyssa discovered nude photos of her on the Internet.
She and her mom Lin successfully sued the Web sites to remove the images.
In 1998, she joined producer Aaron Spelling's series Charmed on the WB
network, where the 28-year-old plays the free-spirited witch Phoebe Halliwell.
On January 1, 1999, Alyssa wed Cinjyn Tate, lead singer for the rock group
Remy Zero, but the marriage lasted only 11 months. She's recently been
linked with her Charmed co-star Brian Krause.
So far, Alyssa has no children - and she's mysterious about her plans.
"Every time I decide I want a child, I get another pet," she
says. "I have three dogs, 13 birds and three horses. What does that
tell you?"
AFTER Who's The Boss? ended, Danny Pintauro enrolled in Stanford University.
His aim - become a veterinarian. It didn't work out that way. "As
soon as I started taking chemistry, I realized that I was just not made
for it," he admits. Finally, he realized acting was in his blood. He
stayed at Stanford and earned a degree in drama in 1998. Then he moved to
New York and has since appeared in several plays. |
